Sausage Pizza


Prep Time: 20 minutes | Cooking Time: 10-15 minutes | Yield: 1 medium pizza

INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 Cappellos naked pizza crust

  • 1 can (14.5 oz) organic, sugar-free tomato sauce

  • 1/4 cup Follow Your Heart dairy free parmesan cheese or Daiya dairy free shredded mozzarella

  • 3 strips sugar-free italian chicken sausage, diced (Whole Foods)

  • Spices (for the tomato sauce base):

  • ​​1 tbsp italian spice, 1 tbsp parsley, 1/2 tbsp oregano, 1/2 tbsp garlic powder, 1 tsp sea salt, and 1 tsp pepper.

INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Preheat oven to 400F.

  2. Start by making the sauce. Pour the can of tomato sauce into a pot, then fill the can of tomato sauce 1/2 way with filtered water and pour that water into the same pot. Mix well.

  3. Season the tomato sauce with all spices and simmer until the sauce thickens (15-20 minutes). Cover with a lid and leave simmering while preparing the rest of the meal.

  4. Now dice and cook the italian sausage in a skillet on medium heat until slightly browned. Set aside.

  5. Once the sauce is ready, spread onto the pizza crust (either frozen or thawed). Then, sprinkle on the cheese and layer on the italian sausage.

  6. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the crust is browned. Enjoy!
