My group class, The Restart Program, includes a 3-week sugar detox and this dessert really helps myself and a lot of the other participants get through it! It doesn't taste sugar-free whatsoever and feels like your eating the inside of an apple pie - not to mention it takes only 10 minutes to whip up start to finish. I can't wait for you to try it!
Ingredients:
2 organic Granny Smith apples
1 tbsp cinnamon
2-3 tbsp Artisana Organics coconut butter
1-2 tsp cooking oil or spray (I used Chosen Foods Avocado Oil Spray)
1 tsp sea salt
Instructions:
Heat a skillet on medium heat and add in the cooking oil ~30 seconds before putting in the apples.
Slice the apples and mix with sea salt and cinnamon.
Sauté for a couple minutes or until they are softened. Set aside.
In a separate pot, melt the coconut butter until it reaches a smooth and consistent consistency similar to "icing" and drizzle over the apples. Enjoy!
