Baked Cinnamon Grapefruit

Prep Time: 3 minutes | Cooking Time: 5 minutes | Yield: 2 halves

This is a great quick & easy 3-ingredient breakfast, snack, and/or dessert!

Grapefruit is a great source of fiber, potassium, lycopene (protects against oxidative damage in the blood), vitamin C, and choline (similar to a B vitamin - it helps maintain cell membranes, transmit nerve impulses, and process fat and cholesterol). These minerals help maintain a healthy heart and can help lower blood pressure.

Grapefruit is also very low on the glycemic index, which means that it doesn't affect your blood sugar much. This is great news because even on a sugar control diet or detox, you can usually have 1 serving of a low glycemic fruit per day, like grapefruit!

  • 1 grapefruit

  • Coconut oil spray

  • Cinnamon, to taste

  1. Cut the grapefruit in half and make small cuts along each section.

  2. Spray with the coconut oil spray and sprinkle with lots of cinnamon.

  3. Broil for about 5 minutes. Enjoy!
